Sexy photos for Christmas

A boudoir session is something you should do for YOU – sexy photos are a fabulous way to celebrate your femininity and a fantastic way to boost your own self esteem. Stunning bridal boudoir photography was not what I originally set out to do when I picked up my first DSLR two decades ago. I began by documenting all the amazing things in my own life. I had an eye and loved creating art through this medium. And then, when the digital age arrived I began to be a “weekend warrior” shooting weddings on the weekend. When I met my extremely talented and handsome husband 10 years ago, we began to share our common interest in photography and when we married I moved into shooting weddings full time. After a few years of photographing gorgeous weddings, I began to notice a trend. Weddings were always so rushed, and it was hard to capture a lot of fabulous images of the bride’s beauty on the morning of the wedding due to time crunches. And I was introduced to boudoir at a professional photography convention and the light bulb in my brain turned on. Brides often work so hard to be their best selves for that walk down the aisle. Their skin care is on point, they have worked harder than ever at the gym, their tan is perfection, they are eating well, their eyebrows are flawless, they may be investing in eyelash extensions, they are buying lingerie for the wedding night…and on and on. It truly is something that she should be able to look back on in her photos. Her beauty, her femininity, her joy, her confidence, her allure as a bride to be is always so special. For her to have a stunning bridal boudoir photography session which captures all of this is truly priceless. For her partner to receive these as a gift on the wedding day is the extra bonus. It’s really something that they will both cherish for years to come. Bridal boudoir has become very popular, so I see a lot of recently engaged ladies.

Sexy and confident boudoir photos for EVERY woman! | Columbus Ohio

Sexy and confident boudoir photos are something that every woman can have. You do not need to be a certain age or size, to be gorgeous. All it takes is stepping out of your comfort zone. Once you decide to put your session on the calendar, you are on your way to fabulous images that will showcase your beauty. Your entire boudoir photography session will be coached from beginning to end, and you will be guided ahead of time to help you bring the right outfits in order for you to rock your session. Over and over again, I get to show gals the back of the camera during their boudoir photography session; and the result is so fun to witness. Ladies just don’t realize that they are indeed beautiful BEFORE any retouching happens; until they see what is being captured at the studio on the camera screen.

This week after a session, I received this text: “Angela, where do I begin?! Thank you so much for empowering me to do something so out of my comfort zone yet making it a WONDERFUL and EXCITING experience that I can’t wait to share with my husband. You did it, I felt more beautiful today than on my wedding day!! :-)”

Her goal was to feel as beautiful in her shoot as she felt on her wedding day. While that sounded like a huge comparison, since most gals feel their most beautiful on their big day(and she was 12 years older) – I was thrilled by the challenge. I have a lot of “secret sauce” in my lighting and posing, and my make up artist is AMAZING. So I had a feeling she was going to be really happy. Knowing afterwards that the mission was completed successfully when she followed up with the text above, was my cherry on top!

So many women give me the old “I’m NOT photogenic” line. Basically saying that they always loath photos of themselves. My comeback is always “I can change that!”. That may seem like a rather strong statement to make; but what I mean is, you’d be amazed by what great lighting, a professional eye, and proper posing can do for an image of a woman. And I don’t need to tell you that horrific lighting, an untrained eye, or bad posing can create VERY unflattering photos!

I have spent years taking courses and learning my craft and skills; and I am still learning and continuing to educated myself in my field. I have learned how to light women and how to put ladies into a pose to flatter them. I have learned how to capture your inner light shining out in a photo. I know how to help you create confident boudoir photos that will boost your self esteem and help you to see that you are sincerely beautiful.

Beautiful boudoir photos are for EVERY woman, and my studio welcomes all ladies with open arms. You don’t need to be a certain size, or a particular shape, or be a specific height, or be a precise age. And you certainly don’t have to live in a specific color of skin to have a beautiful boudoir photo session at my studio.

Many weeks ago, I was disgusted by the polarization of blacks vs whites in the media in response to Charlottesville and the death that happened at the protest rallies being held there. Racism is an ugly, evil thing. But I don’t see that sort of “us vs them” or “black vs white” in my community of Pickerington, Ohio. I feel like the greater Columbus Ohio area is a great blend of black and white and other minorities who all work and live together in harmony. When I see my neighbors at the grocery store, I don’t notice what color that their skin is. I sincerely notice their beauty, I notice their children, I notice their smile. I see them working hard to manage life, be good parents, and enjoy this crazy life we are all given. To me, we are all the same. We all have struggles. We all have hopes and dreams. We all deserve to feel wanted and loved. Each person in my community is unique and beautiful and important. And EVERY single one of the amazing women that I pass by in my community deserves to see how gorgeous that she is. She may not see herself that way; but I KNOW that she is a stunning creature.

So, in the midst of the devastation in Texas last week in the aftermath of hurricane Harvey, it has been wonderful to see all of the love being poured out. All races are helping each other, and I haven’t seen any racism in the news. I truly believe that most of us sincerely love and appreciate those around us. I found myself weeping as I saw the stories unfolding on national television. I love my neighbors and I am deeply grateful for all of those around me.

And I am grateful that this stunning mom allowed me to post her beautiful boudoir photos. I cannot share images with you unless the client gives me permission to share, so I was thrilled to be able to share this bombshell mama! I get asked a lot about make up for different skins tones; and my make up artists are skilled at make up application for all skin types and races. So if you are Asian, or Indian, or African, or European decent or anything else…you are gorgeous to me and I would love to have the honor of capturing your beauty. Doing a sexy boudoir photo session is for every woman. | Columbus Boudoir

Did you think that you have to be a certain age or size to do a sexy boudoir photo session? I may have been guilty of the same thoughts many years ago, when I first began to explore shooting this genre of photography. I had so many assumptions that were incorrect.

Years later, I can tell you that a sexy boudoir photo shoot is indeed for EVERY woman. It is for the wife and mother. It is for the secretary, nurse, and teacher. Intimate portraiture is for the gal who doesn’t even see her self as desirable or seductive. It’s for the woman today who is covered in baby spit up and running on little sleep, or the professional donning scrubs for a 12 hour rotation at the hospital. A sexy boudoir photo shoot isn’t just for models or fitness gurus and gym rats. It doesn’t matter if she is a young 23 year old or a fabulous 61 year old lady with some experience in life and stories to tell(I love those inspiring stories by the way!). And it doesn’t matter if she is extremely fit or out of shape. It doesn’t matter if she is very tiny or a very curvy gal. It isn’t necessary to have cosmetic work done. Whether she has nursed 3 children and has “mom boobs” or has had to endure a mastectomy due to cancer; she is still a beautiful sexual being. Whether she has a round booty or a flat one, her likeness is awesome to behold. Stirring inside of every woman’s mind is the question: “Am I beautiful, am I attractive?” Of course the answer is a resounding: “Yes, you are gorgeous!” Doing a sexy boudoir photo session can show you that you are indeed beautiful. Over and over again, I hear my clients raving about the confidence and self esteem that they gained by having a boudoir session done. Your privacy and confidentiality is important to us! | Boudoir Photo Privacy

Do you have concerns about boudoir photo privacy when thinking about booking your own session?

If you are considering doing a boudoir photo session; you have likely wondered about the risks of these sexy pictures getting into the wrong hands or being posted on the internet without your knowledge or caonsent.

This concern is valid, and it’s important that you feel confident that your photographer will keep your photos completely private and never use them online unless you sign a model release giving them permission to do so.

No matter what enters your mind when you think of boudoir photos, the one thing that is consistent at Angela Woolridge Portrait is your privacy. Boudoir is for everyone, but having intimate photos on the internet is not! So no images are ever shared without my client’s written consent. All of the images posted on my website are real clients, not models. I have a signed consent from each woman to use her images online. I don’t publish any photos without the client’s signed consent.

At our studio, only about 30 percent of our clients sign a full face model release giving us the right to display their beautiful images on our website and social media. The remaining 70 percent chose to keep their photos private, and we deeply respect and honor each woman’s desire to maintain her privacy. We have plenty of gals who are excited and proud of their photos, who feel honored to be featured on our website. But other ladies may not be able to share their images due to their employment or other commitments. We appreciate the model releases that we receive, but no woman is ever pressured in any way to sign a release of any kind. It is ALWAYS the client’s choice and no matter what a client decides – that decision will always be respected.

After the photography session clients come back into the studio for an in person viewing of the edited images, rather than choosing the photos from an online gallery. This eliminates any risks of online hackers attempting to get into online boudoir galleries.

Once clients have made an image purchase, photos are burned onto a physical compact flash drive and delivered to the client. This also eliminates the need for online galleries and downloads. All of these steps are taken to increase the privacy of boudoir photos that we capture for our wonderful clients.

Albums are ordered securely from a professional print lab that is highly regarded in the boudoir industry as safe and professional. Nothing is taken to Walmart or any other local printer. And album orders do not include client names for added security in transit. Packages are discreet with plain boxes for shipping.

I do my utmost to protect the confidentiality of the professional images created at my studio.

You can rest easy knowing that I value the privacy of your boudoir photos and your trust in me.

Feel like a supermodel in your very own boudoir sexy slide show!

One of the things that clients love the most at the studio is the boudoir sexy slide show.

Usually a boudoir photo session lasts over two hours, and I come away from a session with upwards of 300-500 gorgeous images. I do the very painful job of going through each and every shot, to pick out the cream of the crop which is usually 50-70 images. I give those selected photos a magazine style edit. That means that I polish up skin to get rid of blemishes, bruises, cellulite, stretch marks etc. Once I have the top boudoir pics edited, I take approximately one third or more and I make a black and white version of the ones that often shine even better as black and white(those are often images that work fantastic as wall art). Then all of the retouched images and the black and white duplicates are put together with a seductive song in a slide show format to add to that come-hither wow factor.

When clients come back in for their image premiere approximately two weeks after the boudoir photography session has taken place, the boudoir sexy slide show is the first thing that they see in high definition on the big screen tv at the studio. It leaves most gals with a giant smile, some of them crying and all of them delighted that they actually love photos of themselves. I love getting to show gals that they are indeed very beautiful.

The boudoir sexy slide show is a best seller at the studio because it has all of the images, moves fast, and includes music for added emotion. I know that significant others love it just as much as my clients do. I have future plans to add some moving pictures to the slide show as well, so stay tuned for that!

No shirt, no tie, no problem! White sheet boudoir sessions are the best!

White sheet boudoir photography sessions are simply stunning so I wanted to write a little bit about them.

My husband hates the air conditioning and prefers a much warmer home that most. Now that my master bedroom is getting pretty warm at night, I have gotten rid of the heavy blankets and I sleep with just a single sheet. A thin sheet that is cool against my skin and protects me from dangers in the wee hours(I have a serious fear of spider bites). That single sheet is just enough to keep me comfortable and not too hot.

When I wake up I’m a hot mess, but Randy says I’m even more attractive to him then, without being all fancied up. That made me think about the white sheet sessions at the studio. In a full session with me at the studio, I do what is called the white sheet shots last. Once the client has modeled her lingerie and any props and she has gotten over any initial nerves that she may have had about the session, I do a series of images of her wearing nothing but a sheet on the bed. Of course that depends on comfort level, but practically every woman that I have ever photographed a boudoir session for, has wanted to use the sheets as one of her “outfits”.

Sometimes, gals bring in their man for their image reveal. If a guy is present for the viewing and order appointment, he ALWAYS loves the white sheet boudoir photos the best and wants to buy all of those for sure. I am not completely sure why, but I assume that they love those images the most because the lady looks relaxed and sheet shots are very natural. Perhaps men love these the most because they see us as beautiful when they wake up next to us in bed in the morning. Or the fact that white sheet photos are a view of his beloved that only he gets to see. Whatever the reasons, men are very thrilled with the sheet shots captured during a boudoir shoot.

Of course, white sheets don’t have a size so they fit everyone no matter what the woman’s shape or size is. And you can be as covered up, or as exposed as you choose to be depending on your comfort level. The look that is created from a white sheet session is simple, clean, elegant and timeless. And most importantly – it’s all about you and not about the latest Victoria Secret trends or a particular pair of heels or a specific set.

I know that a woman looks awesome in her birthday suit. Hands down, your natural beauty cannot be beat. So my washing machine is constantly going and I always have freshly laundered white sheets ready and waiting for your white sheet boudoir session!
